Compliance Program
In May 2016, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) declared to introduce a self-compliance program.
It was a shift to ‘Market Self-Regulation’ from ‘Sanctions through Investigation,’ aiming to encourage service providers to voluntarily comply with the laws and regulations.
The KCC also adopted the benefit of offering exemption on charges (up to 10%) to those with excellent program outcomes.
