5G, AI, Big Data, and Cloud are LG U+'s core business areas with great growth potential. LG U+
has been hiring leading researchers with Master's or Ph.D. degrees in these fields
while granting industry-academia scholarships to qualified R&D experts.
Researchers who graduated from a domestic university with Master's or Ph.D. degrees are recruited by paying
a visit to a lab or creating an online job posting.
Meanwhile, LG U+ uses internships to find talent from overseas universities.
To manage the employees' performance and achieve the company's goals, LG U+ carries out the
performance review once a year.
For a fair evaluation, leaders may take peer feedback into account.
A group of leaders gets together to discuss the evaluation results before deciding on the final performance
rating.
If an employee wants to appeal, that person must go through the official procedure to be referred to the
Talent Committee.
LG U+ is pursuing the value of diversity and the need for social equity in recruitment, and is
making efforts to widen the window of social advancement to women and the disabled. In order to enhance the
diversity of female members, we support the discovery and development of talented women as well as the
growth of female leaders while reflecting the needs and requirements of the characteristics of each
person.
In addition, the company is taking the lead in employment of the disabled by making sure that baristas with
disabilities have stable jobs at the head office, office buildings, and cafes in customer centers, and is
also working to improve the customer experience of foreign customers by expanding the employment of
foreigners in customer centers.
LG U+ offers various support to its employees, so they could be provided with childbirth care and
increased job satisfaction by maintaining a work-life balance.
Both male and female employees can benefit from maternity leaves before and after childbirth and apply for a
maximum of two-year parental leave and a reduction of working hours for parenting. In 2018, the Ministry of
Gender Equality and Family included LG U+ once again in the list of family-friendly companies. As
such, it has been laying the systematic foundation for constantly maintaining a work-life balance.
